On the occasion of NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY 2022 in the context of 75th Anniversary of Azadi ki Amrit Gatha-54 , Public Participation in Amrit Mahotsav , RJS Parivar (Ram Janki Sansthan) and TJAPS KBSK WB (Tapsil Jati Adibasi Prakatan Sainik Krishi Bikash Shilpa Kendra, West Bengal) along with TOUIF (Temple of Understanding India Foundation) and Mintra Foundation jointly hosted a Webinar on Sunday 27th February 2022 with the theme: “Positive and Scientific Thinking for a Long Term Future”. 
National Science Day is observed every year since 1987 on 28th February in honour of the great Indian scientific discovery of ‘Raman Effect’, which is a particular phenomenon of light scattering by matter discovered by Sir Chandrasekharan Venkata Raman, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1938.
This year’s theme announced by the Government of India is: “Integrated Approach in Science & Technology for Sustainable Future” at a Press Conference 5th January 2022 held by Minister for Science & Technology, Hon’ble Dr. Jitendra Singh in presence of a number of other dignitaries from scientific institutions in the country.  
Shri Balendu Sharma Dadhich ably moderated the proceedings with his insightful knowledge on a diverse range of topics. He was assisted by the National Convener, Shri Uday Manna. After a brief welcome address by Dr. A. K. Merchant. This was followed by a short address by Prof. Chandra Mohan who stressed the importance of scientific temper and its relationship with spirituality drawing from the teachings of Guru Nanak and the doyen of media Marshal McMullen.     
The Chief Guest for the occasion was the philosopher-statesman, Padma Vibushan awardee Hon’ble Dr. Karan Singh, Sadar-i-Riyasat of the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir, former Union Minister, Government of India, Member of Parliament, President, ICCR; Chairman, Auroville Foundation—all of which spanning over 70 years in public life and service to the nation. 
His address captivated the audience of some 100 participants with profound insights from the Upanishads and India’s ancient heritage that was woven with the practice of Yoga in its multidimensional forms such Bhakti, Gynan, Karma, Pranayam of Hatha yoga—the way of the heart, the way of mind, the way for righteous action, etc. Through “Ekam Sat Viprah Bahuda Vedanti” and the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Dr. Karan Singh explained the interfaith ethos of India and mentioned the series of programs he was anchoring for Sansad TV. stressed the need. These rich nuggets of wisdom and spiritual practice were presented in the context of the current world situation and the plea for sanity to prevail in a time when the very survival of humankind is at stake. At the end of his talk, Dr. Karan Singh released the poster of next Sunday’s (6th March) Webinar which is dedicated to the International Women’s Day.  

Dr. R. Gopichandran wonderfully complemented Dr. Karan Singh’s talk by presenting several interesting scientific facts from nature and his researches on in the field of entomology (study of insects) who he considered as extremely intelligent creatures. He cited an interesting publication produced in Canada of 2014 titled: Science Culture Where Canada Stands. He also paid tributes to many great scientists of the country namely Smt. Anna Manni, Ashima Chatterjee, Dr. Homi Bhaba, Vikram Sarabai, Shumbhunath Dey, Shantiswarup Bhatnagar, Satish Dhawan. He also listed the many contributions made by each of these distinguished sons and daughters of India and their exemplary lives which should be the source of enduring inspiration for generations to come.  
Shri Parth Sarathi Thapliyal, Motivational Speaker & Broadcaster proposed the vote of thanks appreciating the contribution of all the distinguished Speakers and those of the participants. The last words were spoken by Shri Uday Manna whose brilliant conceptualization of the series of Webinars had won him praises and accolades from the entire cross section of the RJS parivar and TJAPS KBSK WB, once more thanking the collaborating organizations, the Speakers and the participants.
