Gender equality is possible with positive thinking of IT education and education - RJS PBH - UWA Webinar
RJSians pay tribute to Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi and discuss gender equality in its various aspects.
New Delhi.  Ram Janki Sansthan Positive Broadcasting House (RJS PBH) in collaboration with Ujjwal Women's Association organized a discussion on the role of information technology in gender equality in its  Sunday webinar.  The webinar started with a positive song and Subhadra Kumari Chauhan's poem "Bundele Harbolon ke muh humne suni kahani thi, khub ladi mardani woh to Jhansi wali rani thi" by RJS PBH chief Uday Manna.
The program's co-organizer Ujjwal Women's Association President, Bina Jain,  hosted and welcomed everyone in the webinar.
Chief Guest, International Consumer Policy Expert, Dr. Bijon Kumar Mishra, said that discrimination starts from home, and  has to be overcome with positive thinking.   He has advocated for having 50 percent women members in the Management Board, and in important delegations. Indeed in all spheres of life, whether enterpreneurial, employments, and so,  the presence of women should be proportionate to the gender ratio; that is, it should be roughly 50%.  In fact,  he was emphatic in saying that women should fight for their rights, and menfolk should espouse the cause of prooortionate participation of women in all spheres of social and economic life sooner than later. He shared his valuable experiences with all.  Prof. Yuthika Mishra, Associate Professor of history, Vivekanand College at Delhi University, said that IT has increased economic development.
Most of the websites are in English and the base of internet users should increase every year.  Former NHRC member Jyotika Kalra, who is a former member of the National Human Rights Commission, said that information technology has empowered women.  Today she is making payment through phone also.  He cautioned that there should also be data security.  Also joined from Kolkata was one of the founders of the Positive India-Rise movement, Shri Somen Koley.  Prem Prabha Jha from Indore recited the song 'Komal hai weak nahi' and said that equality of opportunity and equality of men and women for progress has been a part of Indian Sanaatan culture.  Prafulla D Seth concluded the program and thanked all the participants.  Ashok Kumar Malik, RS Kushwaha, Durga Das Azad, Isaac Khan, Deepa Shukla, Kuljit Kaur, Rehana Begum, Dr. Pushkarbala, Sudeep Sahu, Dr.Munni Kumari, Dr.Om Prakash Jhunjhunwala, Dr.Narendra Tatesar etc. were present in the program.  Friends stay connected.
In the end, the questions of the participants were answered by the guests. In brief, it emerged from discussions that although Information Technology is empowering women, yet a lot of ground needs to be covered to reduce the digital divide by making women more and more digitally literate and making the IT benefits accessible to them. The education of women should be career-oriented so that they can have financial independence. Their better literacy, meaningful education, and access to the internet and its tremendous knowledge will empower roughly half the population of our great country, and thereby uplift society to higher levels.
