Imphal - Interfaith Forum for Peace and Harmony, Manipur is organizing an interfaith mass prayer program with candle lights on 20`" at the ISKCON Temple complex, Sangaiprou, Imphal West. Leaders of Hindu, Christian, Islam, Sanamahi, and Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak communities will take turns to pray for ending the ongoing violence in the first place, and for the souls of those who sacrificed their lives, healing of hundreds who lost their near and dear ones, recovery of those who are injured, safety, security and wellbeing of thousands who are displaced and living in relief camps across the hills and valley, and those who have moved to other states for safety and security of their family members and for all people of Manipur who are affected by the ongoing violent conflicts in the state. The prayers will begin at 3.30 p.m. at ISKCON Temple in presence of at least 200 persons representing all religious and faith communities in Manipur including Hindu Gaudiya Vishnavas, Sanamahi, Christian, Islam, Tingkao Ragwang, Jains, Buddhist, Divine Life Society, Brahmakumaris, Art of Living, etc.
Candle light will begin at 5.30 p.m. in the campus of ISKCON. The forum humbly appeals all concerned citizens of Manipur and in rest of India to kindly join in the mass prayer and candle light from their own locations as individuals, groups and community in expression of human solidarity across divides and for ending violence in the state to create space for healing and reconciliation through dialogue processes among the affected communities.
