Patient Safety and Access Initiative of India Foundation (PSAIF) in conjunction with Uday Kumar Manna, Founder, RJS Positive Broadcasting House (RJS PBH) organized a Webinar on the occasion of World Heart Day with the theme of “Use the Heart, Know the Heart Is Open-Ended." World Heart Day is celebrated on 29 September.
In the 175th webinar of Amritkaal Ka Sakaraatmak Bharat, the memory of Gandhi-Shastri was honored on World Non-Violence Day.
Cardiologist Dr. Kaneria Kilolkumar Vallabhbhai, Dr. Bharmal Wahid S, Dr. Nitin Jain expressed their views on the causes and prevention of heart disease and resolved the doubts and problems of RJians. In the webinar, condolence was expressed on the demise of Shahzad Chaudhary, fifty-year-old brother-in-law of Nadir Tyagi, associated with the RJS positive media family, due to heart attack.
Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon Dr. Nitin Jain, associated with Apollo Hospital, Ahmedabad, said that ninety percent of blockages of arteries of heart patients are cured with medicines only, provided they consult a doctor on time or come to the hospital. He threw light on organ donation. Organ donation helps in saving the lives of others suffering from diseases afflicting liver, lungs, eyes and other organs. He advised to get cardiac assessment done once a year or so.
Cardiologist Dr. Kaneria said that earlier heart disease used to occur at the age of fifty years or so, now the age of getting heart disease has come down to thirty years or so. If heart disease occurs in a family at a young age, the financial budget of the family gets upset. Out of a thousand deaths, twenty deaths are due to heart disease. He said that our wrong diet, obesity and stress are the main causes of heart disease. If the breadwinner in the family dies of heart attack, the family is left in the lurch. Internal Medicine and Endocriminology Specialist Dr. Bharmal Wahid S said that diabetes has taken the form of an epidemic in India. Diabetes is occurring in small children. Pregnant women must get checked for diabetes.
Prof. Bejon Kumar Misra, International Consumer Policy Expert, released the fourth issue of the monthly newsletter of RJS PBH and said that it will contain illustrated monthly activities and programs of the Positive India-Uday movement. Discussing the topic of the webinar, he said that the patient does not go to the doctor due to fear of expenses and the expenses incurred on various tests. For this, he demanded the government to bring everyone under universal health insurance coverage. Universal insurance coverage will make it possible to go to the hospital or doctor without fear of expense.
