Diaspora's Dual Mandate: $129 Billion Remittance Meets the Spirit of *Ap Deepo Bhava* at RJS PBH Summit

NEW DELHI—The global Indian diaspora, a powerful source of economic strength and cultural resilience, convened at the Ram Janaki Sansthan Positive Broadcasting House (RJS PBH) 507th webinar on December 19, 2025, for International Migrants Day. The summit, themed "The Great, My Great Story, Cultures and Development," highlighted the community's $129.1 billion annual contribution to India while emphasizing the emotional, cultural, and spiritual journey required to embody the ancient philosophy of *Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam* (the world is one family).

**Uday Kumar Manna**, National Coordinator and Founder of RJS PBH, inaugurated the event, linking the diaspora's global efforts to national history, commemorating the execution anniversary of Kakori case revolutionaries (December 19, 1927) and celebrating Goa Liberation Day.

**Sunil Kumar Singh**, Director of Programs, quantified the community’s vital economic role, confirming that the diaspora remits approximately **$129.1 billion (USD) annually**—a crucial lifeline for India's foreign reserves and poverty alleviation. Mr. Singh stressed that these individuals are not just economic contributors but cultural transmitters who strengthen India’s diplomatic and soft power influence by propagating Yoga, Ayurveda, and traditions globally.

**The Psychological Journey of Self-Reconstruction**

Speakers from around the world shared the intensely personal struggles of migration, often defining the experience as an *Aatma Punar Nirman Ki Yatra* (journey of self-reconstruction).

**Dr. Sunita Sharma**, an Author and Poet from New Zealand, stressed that success requires deep **mental and emotional preparedness**. She urged migrants to cultivate *Sakaratmakta* (positivity) to overcome loneliness and advised that "asking for help is always counted as your strength, not your weakness." Dr. Sharma detailed her work in New Zealand, where she promotes multiculturalism by teaching Hindi and Indian festivals to local "Kiwi" children and translating indigenous Maori stories into Hindi.

**Smita Singh**, a Corporate Trainer in Singapore, recounted her initial isolation and *udasinta* (despondency) after leaving a lecturer role in Patna and losing her job. She found renewed purpose in corporate training and stressed the necessity of finding a Hindi-speaking community, admitting that the internal conflict (*jabardast dwand*) persists despite her professional success.

### **Cultural Resilience Across Generations**

The webinar showcased the fierce determination to preserve heritage, even across vast historical distances.

**Dr. Ritu Sharma** (Netherlands) provided a unique historical context as a 4th-generation descendant of the *Girmitya* (indentured labor) diaspora from Suriname. She highlighted the immense, unsupported effort required over 152 years to preserve Sanatana Dharma and the Bhojpuri-derived 'Surnami Hindi' language. She works to establish voluntary schools and temples in the Netherlands, noting that while life abroad offers modern facilities, the *dard* (pain) of missing the "soul" of Indian relationships and festivals remains.

**Dr. Shweta Goyal** (Australia), a lecturer and researcher, detailed her groundbreaking academic work, known as "Gita Psychology" or "Mind Beyond Therapy," which integrates the philosophical teachings of the **Bhagavad Gita into Western mental health models**. She actively represents Hinduism in multifaith dialogues and proudly noted the successful transmission of heritage to her Australian-born son, who is deeply connected to Indian culture and mythology.

### **Spiritual Anchor and Final Directives**

While professional success was celebrated, speakers repeatedly affirmed the need for a spiritual foundation to sustain happiness.

**Dr. Rajpal Singh**, a retired General Practitioner from the UK, shared his smooth professional career after migrating in 1973. He emphasized his ongoing commitment to charity (sponsoring Gulchi School in India) and active participation in spiritual organizations like Brahma Kumari and Gita Bhavan in Leicester, confirming that even stable lives require a spiritual anchor. His wife, **Vijay Singh**, offered thanks to the RJS PBH for uniting the community and confirmed their upcoming 54th wedding anniversary on December 25th.

**Sadhak Omprakash** (84-85), a spiritual leader and retired official from Patna, provided the philosophical summation. He defined the success of the diaspora as stemming from their innate belief in *Vasudeva* (universal consciousness). He urged listeners to adopt the principle of ***Ap Deepo Bhava*** (Be your own light/lamp), advocating that true empowerment comes from relying on the inner light achieved through the synchronous functioning of *Man* (Mind), *Pran* (Life force), and *Sharir* (Body).

### **Future Initiatives and Documentation**

The event concluded with strategic announcements underlining RJS PBH’s commitment to documenting these success stories for its 2047 mission:

*   **Positive Media Mission:** Uday Kumar Manna announced the launch of a Positive Media Mission on 31 December 2025. **Professor Dr. K. G. Suresh** (Vice-Chancellor of MCU, Bhopal), will launch this show that will dedicated to documenting success stories of contributors worldwide.
*   **Kabir Webinar:** **Dayaram Saroliya**, Editor of *Kabir Darpan* magazine, invited all participants to an upcoming webinar on **December 21st** focused on Sadguru Kabir's teachings on *Karma* (Action) and *Bhakti* (Devotion).

**Rakesh Manchanda**, an NRI and frequent traveler, reinforced the value of *Anubhav* (experience) over book knowledge, connecting to Kabir's wisdom. **Jagdish Malviya**, a Team Republic Day 2026 member, expressed pride in seeing Indian culture's *Parcham* (flag) raised globally. The organization pledged to continue using its platform to spread positive thinking and Hindi language, ensuring the vision of a developed *Vishwa Guru* India is realized by 2047.
