RJS PBH LAUNCHES MONTH-LONG CAMPAIGN TACKLING DEADLY HEATWAVES, ECOLOGICAL DESTRUCTION OF GANGA, AND UNREGULATED ONLINE DRUG SALES

NEW DELHI -- Ram Janaki Sansthan Positive Broadcasting House, widely known as RJS PBH, spearheaded by Uday Kumar Manna, has officially launched an ambitious month-long nationwide campaign running from May 25 to June 26. The initiative addresses three critical threats currently facing the nation: the severe Nautapa heatwave, the rampant ecological destruction of the Ganga river, and the alarming rise of youth drug addiction fueled by unregulated online medicine platforms. The announcements were made during the 566th edition of the Positive Media Dialogue, which also revealed plans for the release of the organization's seventh book on August 9, coinciding with August Kranti Diwas.

The dialogue opened with urgent public health directives regarding the severe heatwave gripping the country. Dr. Naresh Chawla, former Vice President of the Delhi Medical Council, issued a stark warning about the rising temperatures. He advised vulnerable demographics, including children, pregnant women, and senior citizens, to strictly remain indoors between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Addressing the economic reality of daily wage earners who cannot avoid the sun, Dr. Chawla emphasized the critical need for continuous hydration, recommending up to four liters of water daily for healthy individuals. He strongly advised against the consumption of chilled water and junk food, noting a recent spike in severe gastrointestinal issues linked to heat and dietary negligence.

During an interactive Q&A session, when questioned by R.S. Kushwaha about the safety of Reverse Osmosis (RO) water, Dr. Chawla debunked the growing commercial trend of alkaline water machines. He stated that standard boiled or filtered water remains the safest and most practical choice for the average citizen, warning that RO systems often strip water of essential minerals naturally required by the body.

Transitioning to the environmental crisis, the dialogue took a highly critical turn as Swami Shivanand of Matri Sadan Haridwar delivered a scathing assessment of the ongoing ecological destruction of the Ganga. Marking the occasion of Ganga Dussehra, Swami Shivanand accused governmental bodies, corporate syndicates, and the scientific community of complicity in the slow death of the river. He argued that the relentless construction of dams and illegal mining activities under the guise of economic development have destroyed the river's natural flow and decimated its aquatic life. He highlighted the tragic irony that a river once revered across the country for its healing properties is now heavily polluted and devoid of its historical biodiversity.

Furthermore, Swami Shivanand raised the alarming and controversial issue of environmental activists, specifically citing Swami Nigamanand and G.D. Agarwal, who allegedly lost their lives while fighting the powerful mining and industrial syndicates operating along the riverbanks. He warned that humanity's attempt to conquer nature, rather than adapt to it, will inevitably invite catastrophic natural disasters, referencing the deadly 2013 Kedarnath floods as a direct consequence of unbridled commercial development.

The socio-economic implications of the dialogue deepened during the segment focused on the upcoming Anti-Drug Day. Ashish Grover, General Secretary of the Confederation of All India Traders and Secretary of the Delhi Traders Association, exposed a critical regulatory loophole in the current healthcare and e-commerce systems. He pointed out that unregulated online medicine platforms operate without requiring valid medical prescriptions, allowing youth to easily access pharmaceuticals for substance abuse. Grover demanded that the government immediately ban the direct-to-consumer online sale of medicines to curb this digital drug menace.

Grover noted that economic stress and academic pressures, explicitly mentioning the recent NEET paper leak controversies, are driving youth toward various forms of addiction. When asked by Uday Kumar Manna about the changing trends in addiction, Grover revealed that substance abuse now ranges from cheap alternatives like shoe polish and hand sanitizers among the economically disadvantaged, to expensive prescription drugs among middle and upper-class youth.

Former Magistrate Om Sapra added a sociological perspective to the debate, explaining that drug addiction is typically born out of two extremes: absolute poverty or excessive, unmonitored wealth. He stated that addiction thrives in environments lacking fundamental family communication. Sapra urged parents to establish daily rituals, such as eating at least one meal together, to foster an environment where youth feel safe discussing their academic and social pressures before turning to narcotics.

Offering a concrete medical solution to the addiction crisis, Dr. Kamlesh Sisodia introduced a highly specialized naturopathic approach to rehabilitation. When questioned about whether sudden de-addiction is safe or effective, Dr. Sisodia explained that addiction fundamentally alters the endocrine system and elevates brain temperature. By utilizing specific olfactory stimulations, targeted diets, and specialized water treatments such as calcium-rich water or water infused with blackberry wood, naturopathy can effectively tune the endocrine system. This holistic intervention lowers brain temperature and significantly reduces the severe physical cravings and withdrawal symptoms associated with abrupt de-addiction.

In the programme, Binda Manna, Neeti Arora, Pawan Kumar, Rajendra Singh Kushwaha, Brijanand Prasad, Uday Shankar Singh Kushwaha, Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Kamlesh Sisodia, Mayank Raj, Akanksha Manna and others pledged to participate in the month-long nationwide campaign.

The comprehensive session concluded with Uday Kumar Manna reaffirming the commitment of Ram Janaki Sansthan Positive Broadcasting House to act as a definitive bridge between the struggling public and policymakers. By documenting these pressing issues and mobilizing community leaders, RJS PBH aims to submit actionable recommendations to the government, ensuring that the voices advocating for public health, environmental preservation, and a drug-free society are heard at the highest levels of administration.
