The Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bidhanchandra Roy 01st July ,IMA HQ observing this to organise Health Checkup camp at its branches & Award Function at HQ.

National Doctors’ Day is being celebrated on 1st July every year commemorating the birth 

and the death anniversary of visionary leader, social reformer, astute clinician and a great human 

being Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy. 

The 2nd Chief Minister of West Bengal was also a popular Clinician 

and Medical Educationalist. He was conferred with Bharat Ratna in 1961, one year before his death. 

The Govt. Of India has also instituted Dr. B.C. Roy National Award in 1973 which was being

conferred by Hon’ble President of India every year. But since last 5 years the said Award is put on 

hold.

In the presence of 

Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, National President, IMA & Dr. Jayesh Lele,Hony.Secretary General,IMA.

They said that IMA is observing National Doctors’ Day at various branches by 

holding Blood Donation Camps, Health Check-up Camps and Awareness activities.

At IMA HQs a grand function is being organized to reward dedicated and eminent doctors 

who have rendered distinguished services to the humanities. The Award Function is being blessed 

by the presence of Hon’ble Union Minister, Shri Mansukh Madaviya Ji and Hon’ble Minister of 

State, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar Ji. Important leaders and members of IMA across the country will 

be attending this function.

On this occasion we will also put forth before the Hon’ble Ministers the difficulties faced by 

our member’s and will draw the attention towards unmet demands of IMA.
