New Delhi: First Global Summit on Quality and the Consumer on a Hybrid Mode
organised by
Consumer Online Foundation & Patient Safety and Access Initiative
of India Foundation, New Delhi, INDIA.
The Theme this year is “Sustainability: improving our products,
people and planet”
In shaping India’s future, Quality will play a dominant role. This decade will
see the forging ahead of Indian industry meeting domestic and global
supplies and making “Make in India” stamp known for quality. Quality
stamp of any country is reflected through four mountains, e.g. Domestic
Market, Exports, Health and Education. Keeping this objective in mind, a
national agenda for integrating Quality concepts into a way of life of every
customer has become the single most priority. The emergence of Covid and
its impact of lives of citizens is the testimony of a monumental challenge
especially on the pharmaceutical sector, more than ever before with need to
research and develop preventive antiviral therapies.
So, what does this mean? Sustainability can’t just be an area that you and
your organization consider. You need to commit to building it into your
company culture because it’s here to stay. And, if sustainability hasn’t already become an essential part of your business operations, your
competitive advantage and your reputation, it will. Socially conscious
companies create value for their customers by being innovative and
improving their products and services.
This helps them to meet
environmental and social standards. In India, for the first time few voluntary
consumer organization (VCOs), which works in the interest of the consumers
has brought all the stakeholders together to deliberate on the need for a
National Consumer Policy with focus on “QUALITY WITHOUT ANY
COMPROMISE” to sustain our mission on ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT.
As a quality management professional, you can help your
organization to:
Recognize
environmental and social concerns, and how they
affect the quality you need to deliver to your
customers
Embed
sustainability needs and expectations in processes
and plans through your organization’s
management system and operational governance
Innovate
by designing products and services that are
commercially viable and sustainable
Monitor, measure and
report
how you're using sustainability to improve your
business and your reputation
Meet
important sustainability requirements and targets
Continuously improve
your sustainability performance under your leadership.
You will have to innovate by designing products and services that are
commercially viable and sustainable. Focus on care of our customers;
control the quality and offer rational use of medicines; reach out
pharmaceutical services in variety of settings, local, national, and
international; implement robust potential adverse drug reaction monitoring
mechanisms; impart education, both scientific and professional, to
pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists; manage patients’ concerns on
health insurance reimbursements; manage regulatory attention on quality
of products, delivery systems and best practices in manufacturing,
distribution and dispensing.
It is our privilege to invite you to share your views on the way forward to
make India self-reliant and stand on four of its biggest challenges –
affordability, accessibility, agility, and quality. The world wants to listen to
you on how we can empower the citizens globally to differentiate between
unsafe and sub-standard vis-a-vis safe and quality products and services
About the organizers:
Consumer Online Foundation (COF) is led by eminent citizens and was
founded by Prof Bejon Kumar Misra, an International Consumer Policy
Expert, working in India for the last 35+ years. COF has always been in the
forefront to bring policies, standards, and regulations to empower the
consumers to seek the best value for money, while working with
Governments in various working groups, expert committees, and councils. In
September this year, COF became the first and only organization in India
certified as per International Standard ISO 9001:2015 on Consumer
Complaint Redressal Services. COF launched a new initiative in September
2010 “Safe Medicines India Initiative” along with International Organizations
to work against the menace of spurious and not of standard quality
medicines in the supply chain globally. Since 2014, COF focused on Universal
Health Coverage (UHC) and improving the quality of the healthcare delivery
system in India and registered a not-for-profit company under section 8
called Patient Safety and Access Initiative of India Foundation (PSAIIF).
Since then, it never looked back and went ahead to strengthen the
implementation of the AYUSHMAN BHARAT PM-JAY across the country in
collaboration with Government of India, Quality Council of India, the State
Governments, Industry & Trade Associations, Academic Institutions and VCOs to assure quality healthcare is made accessible to the citizens without
any compromise.

with the National Quality Month is bringing together quality professional
